If you are looking for a good deal, then you never want to buy the latest gadget right when it comes out. If you are wanting to stay on the cutting edge and always have the latest and greatest gadget, then you want to get it the moment it starts to hit the shelves.

Many people love new technology, but they will wait to purchase it so that they can get it for a lower cost than when it first comes out. When there is a lower demand, the price will drop, which is why technology is often expensive at first and then becomes affordable to everyone later.

A good example of this is the cost of a VHS recorder when they first came out. They were several hundred dollars most of the time. And before the DVD started to take the stage, the price had dropped to about twenty dollars. the same thing has happened as DVD has started to take a back seat to Blu Ray. The DVD players were hundreds of dollars, and now you can get them for less than fifty at many local stores.

If you want to have the best in technology before your friends, there is nothing like putting it in your cart and heading to the checkout line before very many people know what it is, or even have had a chance to own it.
